According to the Global Financial Centres Index 14, compiled by Z/Yen Group and sponsored by the Qatar Financial Centre Authority, Malta ranked number 53 out of 80 financial centres, right behind Milan, and before Madrid, Dublin and Brussels.
In EU terms, Malta ranks at number 14 out of 27 financial centres.
In 2013, Malta moved up 15 places, one of the most noticeable improvements this year.
