David Zahra has recently participated in a technical session organised by FinanceMalta, a public-private initiative set up to promote Malta as an international financial centre, in Milano, Italy.
The event, held on Wednesday 7 May 2014, dealt with wealth management instruments and investments funds in Malta.
David Zahra formed part of the first panel dealing with wealth management and, together with Dr Anthony Cremona from Ganado Advocates, discussed various technical issues relating to the setting up of Maltese trusts and foundations by Italian nationals. The speakers also answered questions posed by the audience and Simone Meneghini, legal representative of Bank of Valletta p.l.c. in Italy.
The discussion also focused on the recent amendments to the Trusts and Trustees Act (Cap 331, Laws of Malta), in particular the introduction of the family trust.
