Our team recently gathered at the Corinthia Palace in Attard for an enriching team building event.
The session held on 10 May provided an exceptional opportunity for our team to connect beyond the confines of the office while engaging in activities that were both enjoyable and relevant to our work.
One of the main focuses of the event was corporate sustainability. We were privileged to have Daniel Debono and Gabriel Cassar from the Malta Business Bureau deliver an insightful session on the latest EU developments in this field. Their expertise shed light on the importance of sustainable practices and encouraged thought-provoking discussions among our team members. In addition, we had the pleasure of hosting David Xuereb from the Malta ESG Alliance, who shared his knowledge on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. This session deepened our understanding of ESG’s role in shaping the legal landscape, empowering us to embrace ethical standards while navigating complex challenges.
To further enhance our legal acumen, Giulio Sammut, Associate within the firm, provided a comprehensive overview of the new Mobility Directive, which has been recently transposed into Maltese Law. His session enabled us to grasp the intricacies of this transformative legislation and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving legal environment.
As globalization continues to impact the legal realm, it is crucial to gain insights into Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) screening. We were fortunate to have Mario Galea from the Malta FDI Screening Office enlighten us on FDI screening requirements, equipping us with the knowledge to navigate international waters with confidence.
The event culminated with an inspiring talk by Judge Anthony Borg Barthet, a distinguished former Attorney General of Malta and a judge for the European Court of Justice. His valuable experiences and advice resonated deeply with our team, providing valuable insights into overcoming challenges in the legal world.
