Last week, on 30 October 2024, our team gathered for an engaging team-building event at the Corinthia Palace in Attard for a day dedicated to growth, collaboration, and inspiration.
This team-building event brought together expert-led workshops and insightful sessions designed to enhance our legal expertise and foster personal development.
The day kicked off with a workshop on EU competition law led by Dr. Alessandra Galea, Senior Associate (Antitrust and Competition) at the Freshfields’ London office, a seasoned expert in this field. Dr. Galea’s session sparked thoughtful discussion and gave the team a fresh perspective on applying competition law in everyday practice.
After a quick coffee break to recharge, Jean Paul Debono, Accountancy and Advisory Partner at the accountancy and audit firm Quazar, led a hands-on session on accounting for lawyers. By walking the team through the essentials of financial statements, Jean Paul equipped us with practical tools to assess business performance, adding a valuable layer to our skill set as trusted advisors to our clients.
After a relaxing lunch, the team dove into the art of negotiation with Dr. Giulio Sammut (Senior Associate at the firm). Giulio covered effective strategies for approaching different scenarios, provided new insights into handling complex situations and turning potential obstacles into opportunities. The team left feeling empowered to approach negotiations with renewed confidence.
To close the day, the team had the privilege of hearing from Mr. Anthony Guillaumier, a visionary entrepreneur and founder and former chairperson of the Richmond Foundation. Mr. Guillaumier shared invaluable lessons from both his achievements and challenges. His stories resonated deeply with us, inspiring each team member to embrace resilience, innovation, and purpose in our professional and personal lives.
Our day of team-building wasn’t just a series of workshops—it was an experience that reconnected us with our passion for the law and sharpened our skills for the road ahead. We returned to the office not just with new knowledge, but with a stronger sense of unity and a renewed commitment to excellence.
