Malta has solidified its reputation as a premier hub for emerging businesses, securing fourth place in Europe in the 2024 Startup Nations Standard (SNS) Report by the Europe Startup Nations Alliance (ESNA). Malta stood out in critical areas such as talent attraction and retention and digital transformation, achieving a perfect 100% score in both categories. With a highly digitalized public administration and strategic initiatives designed to attract skilled professionals—particularly in the tech sector— Malta continues to establish itself as a centre for entrepreneurship and innovation.
Since 2020, the country’s Start-up Finance Scheme has approved 66 projects, allocating €30 million in funding across industries like FinTech, MedTech, and robotics.
With strategic initiatives like DiHubMT, a High-Performance Computer (HPC) launching in 2025, and the annual Startup Festival, Malta is solidifying its place as a top European startup hub.
